JAVANESE GAMELAN
Gamelan is a musical group, or ensemble, of instruments. It can include xylophones with metal or wooden bars, gongs, drums, bamboo flutes, stringed instruments, and singers. Different gamelan ensembles can have different numbers and types of instruments.

Where is Java?
The gamelan ensemble at Wesleyan University comes from the island of Java, Indonesia. Java is between China and Australia and is labeled number 1 on the map.
